Since its Independence, India has made huge progress in many fronts.  Indians are culturally tolerant but when it comes to certain issues like homosexuality, we are still living in dark ages. This is one issue where people often prefer silence over taking a stance. Even though public acceptance and equality might slowly be gaining ground, silence is still maintained over the issue. For People who come out of the closet, it’s really difficult as they are often shunted out by not only their “conservative” parents but often by their own “modern and liberal” brothers and sisters.

Photographer Arjun Kamath has created a Photo series depicting the plight of LGBT people around the world. The album shows how a simple act like loving can be interpreted in such a negative sense.
