In the aftermath of Paris tragedy, life has been difficult for many Parisians.  Many are still in shock and fear. At the site of Bataclan attacks, the people from all over Paris had gathered and were placing flowers and candles at the Memorial. The French media was also present and one reporter from Le Petit Journal asked kids and parents about this attack. In one of the interviews, The 5-year-old says he is afraid of bad and nasty people with big guns, they might have to change their home from France. But his dad explains him that they might have guns, but we have flowers! And these flowers and candles will protect them. After this, the child was visibly happy and when the reporter asked him if he feels better, he replied with Yes.

Transcript of Conversation

Father: “I told him what happened was very serious. We were Immigrants, but we have french hearts now and its values.”

Reporter: “Do you understand why those people did this?”

Boy: “Yes, because they’re really really nasty. They are Bad guys are not very nice. And we have to be really careful now otherwise we will have to move to a new home

Father: Don’t worry… We don’t need to move. France is our home.”

Boy: “But there’s bad guys here”

Father: “Yes, but there are bad guys everywhere. ”

Boy: “They have guns, and they can shoot us because they’re really really nasty

Father: “It’s OK, They might have Guns but we have flowers.”

Boy: “But flowers don’t do anything, they’re for, they’re for…”

Father: Look, everyone is leaving flowers. They’re to fight against the guns.”

Boy: “It’s to protect? And the candles too?”

Father: So we don’t forget the people who have gone

Boy: “The flowers and the candles are here to protect us.”

Father: “Right”

Reporter: “Do you feel better now?”

Boy: “Yes, I feel better.”
